Greg Kelly calls his friend, former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik, a “True American Hero.” Kerik was Commissioner during the September 11, 2001 attacks. For his heroism, Kerik received a Commander of the British Empire honorary title from the Queen of England. But it was a long road to becoming New York’s top cop.
After serving in the military, Kerik joined the police force in New Jersey. He eventually made his way to New York City, where he was the bodyguard for Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Kerik would ultimately be appointed Top Cop by Giuliani and serve 16 months.
As many know, Kerik’s life post-NYPD has had its ups and downs. He served time for criminal convictions from 2010-2013. In 2020, Kerik had his convictions pardoned by President Donald Trump.
This is the story of his life led to the fullest, as seen by the Commissioner himself.
